Friend of mine did it in Colorado where water is more of an issue. He has a couple of dogs and during warm days his place smells like a festival porta potty. So now he still has to water it often, if only to wash off dog urine.

Idk why people do this, it gets hot as shit too compared to a real lawn. Hot as in “you can’t walk on it barefoot” hot. Maybe that’s not the case here, but certainly true for tradition turf.
